The Public Lands Council is a producer-driven organization. The work we do is directed by the needs of the more than 22,000 federal lands ranchers across the West and the situations they encounter each day.

We’re focused on addressing real problems with legislative and regulatory solutions. There is a great deal of translation and interpretation that happens when bringing an issue that affects cattle and sheep producers to a Washington, D.C. audience. The reverse is also true: PLC reviews and analyzes thousands of bills, regulations, and guidance documents each month to ensure well-meaning attempts actually function as intended.

Your priorities, perspectives, and needs are at the core of what we do, but there is no substitute for direct testimony from you.

You are your own best advocate.

In this section, you will find resources to make you the best possible advocate. From lobbying “tricks of the trade” to succinct fact sheets that summarize issues and clearly communicate PLC’s position, you will find it all here.

Have a suggestion for additional issue summaries? Join one of our policy committees by contacting staff or your state’s member of the PLC Board of Directors.
