PLC's member-driven policy process is designed to ensure the current policy book reflects the needs of public lands grazing permittees, allottees, and lessees West-wide. PLC adopts policy on an annual basis during the General Business Meeting of our annual convention. Affiliates and members participate in policy committee meetings throughout the year and prepare resolutions to be considered by these committees each September. Policy that advances through committees and is adopted by the voting delegates becomes the policy for the following  year. Policies are valid for five years, after which they expire automatically if no action is taken to renew them. Committees may act to revise or rescind policies at any time, regardless of adoption or expiration date.
