Executive Director: Ethan Lane

Ethan_Lane_PLCEthan Lane is the Executive Director of the Public Lands Council and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Federal Lands.  A 5th generation Arizonan with 18 years experience in natural resources and land use issues.

Before coming to PLC and NCBA, Ethan worked on multiple high profile political campaigns and advised a variety of private companies and industries operating on public lands throughout the West.

Prior to moving to Washington, Ethan spent ten years helping to grow and manage a large real estate and ranch portfolio including more than five hundred thousand acres in Arizona alone – much of that made up of State, Forest Service, and BLM grazing permits.  His diverse background gives him a unique perspective on the challenges landowners and lessees face in operating successful businesses on public lands.

Associate Director: Marci Schlup

Marci Schlup is the Associate Director for the Public Lands Council  and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Federal Lands. She joined the associations in December 2013.

Marci grew up in Douglas, Wyoming, and has been working on her family’s cow/calf Black Angus operation since childhood. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science from the University of Wyoming, graduating in 2009.

After graduation, Marci worked for Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming for three and a half years, first as an intern in Washington, D.C. and then as a full-time Field Representative on the Senator’s state staff, where she worked on various issues from Social Security and Medicare to agriculture and public lands.
