WASHINGTON (Feb. 10, 2020) – Public Lands Council (PLC) Executive Director Kaitlynn Glover today released the following statement in response to the publication of the President’s fiscal year 2021 budget for the Department of the Interior:
“The President has once again demonstrated his Administration’s commitment to rural America and our public lands. The proposed fiscal year 2021 budget prioritizes crucial resources for active forest and rangeland management to manage fuel loads and prevent catastrophic wildfire, demonstrates clear commitment to important steps needed to curb wild horse and burro overpopulation, and considers the public lands infrastructure maintenance backlog that has plagued Interior agencies for years. Western ranchers are glad to see the department continue to address these often-overlooked issues and call upon lawmakers to adopt them in the upcoming appropriations process.”
